My name is Alan Valler. I'm 48 and I have three young children who live with their mother in London. I am now based in a small village called Witley in Surrey just a few miles from Guildford. I live with my partner Emma and our labrador puppy called 'Pip'. 

 

I love my children and we have great fun when they come to stay at weekends. I try to be the best Dad I can be for them.

 

I worked in advertising for over two decades where I learned a great deal about running businesses, finance and accountancy, law and of course people. For the latter 10 years I was  a shareholder and director of a succesful company in the West End of London.

 

In addition to my 'day job' ever since 1999, I've also developed property sucessfully in London and decided to focus on this full time in early 2013.

 

Having found myself on the receiving end of a divorce petition and encountering difficulties in seeing my children and remaining resident in  my own home, I decided to immerse myself in family law. I also trained under a highly respected McKenzie Friend who is also a qualified solicitor and barrister. I represented myself in all my own proceedings which was a great learning curve, though I studied very hard to ensure I did not disadvantage myself in court.

 

I wish to help others who find themselves in the same position I was. I wish that I had known about McKenzie Friends before I embarked on my own journey through the family courts - hopefully you have arrived here at this website at the start of yours.
